Mag and I went for baby's event catering project dinner at Rosette yesterday.
the restaurant looks old and retro from the outside, but the decor and ambience inside is very chic and good. (:
The food is damn damn nice but the waiters/ waitresses cannot make it.
this waitress who tried to take our orders for drinks spoke too fast and rambled off a list of the names of wines and cocktails/ mocktails.
yea but you know what? i'm really not here to test how well you've memorised the names of wines.
anyway back to my point, even the bread before the appetiser was great, unlike the normal baguette bread you get from restaurants outside.
the appetiser wasn't so great. didnt really like the sauce that came with the piece of watermelon. it tastes like soy sauce with watermelon? and the prawn was a lil too hard.
the soup is a very very clear version of miso soup (clear as in: imagine miso soup from yoshinoya minus the bits and pieces of undissolved miso) with a pasta dumpling. the pasta dumpling's filling was great but the skin was too thick.
then came boyfriend's soursop sherbet :D
it was sooo nice, sour and sweet to the exact right extent. mmmm i'm craving for it as i'm typing. ): haha, will force bf to make bigger portions for me :D
the main course was up next
i expected a very small portion of chicken but what came up was two large pieces of chicken thigh meat plated very nicely and surrounded by mashed potatoes. v delicious but a lil too much fat and oil.
finally finally finally, boyfriend's plated dessert.
it was cheesecake - mag's nemesis.
Haha. i even threatened to tell bf that she refused to eat his cheesecake. jokingly of course.
but in the end she still ate half of the cheesecake, leaving out the more cheesy mousse part
besides the cheesecake there's also muah chee aka mochi.
it was v v v v v v sticky. you can see me trying to eat the mochi very unglam-ly
then there were some berries and a cup of melted dark chocolate (which later i realise from bf that we were supposed to dip the berries in the chocolate and then eat them)
I'm gonna upload the photos of the dessert tmr because, simply because my darling cellphone is freaking NOT with me. I LEFT IT IN THE OFFICE. dammit. i dont dont dont believe it!
anw i'm watching this show on channel u now.
i've totally no idea why i'm watching it.
its just a show that you watch because the tv is on and not that you intentionally wanna watch it.
so the show is about this guy who has an infatuation with a girl in his school. its so damn sweet okaaaaaaaay. he cooked for her and even sent flowers to her house. but apparently the girl didnt appreciate it at all. she even called him to scold him and ignore him after that. i feel so sad for the guy. i mean, he has problems with his family and she's like his only motivation to live. sigh.
okay. why am i even blogging about this.
after the dinner last Friday mag and i shopped walked to orchard and shopped around.
and fucking smokers walking along orchard road and ambushing cineleisure had to ruin our mood. enough about smokers. otherwise i'm gonna go on and on insulting them.
didnt get anything because the shops were all closed damn early.
after much walking and hurting (of feet) we finally decided to call it a day.
mag went home first while i waited for bf to clean up and change and we cabbed home. we escaped the midnight charge by a close shave but the ride in a mercedez cab still cost 20$.
Just this Tuesday i met up with babyyyy after work for dinner at Fish&Co!
im not a fan of seafood but i really love the new york fish&chips there.
its like super big. but luckily bf has a never-ending appetite for good food so i can give some to him. (:
i like guys who eat a lot. (not a lot as in an entire cow, a lot as in he MUST eat more than normal girls/ me)
because from my perspective guys who have small appetites are stereotyped as sissy. oops. no offense.
haha uncannily i wore the same dress as the last time we went there, and also had a Jodi Picoult book with me (different titles though). then we even went to the same store to buy his kitchen equipments after dinner.
Very deja vu i know.
Then today, just now. Met up with mag again and we watched Get Smart.
the movie is indescribably FUNNY.
VERY VERY VERY ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS.
i really couldnt stop laughing at one point and had to tell myself to keep calm in case i die laughing. *touchwood*
Steve Carrell is omg-ly funny.
and need i say? Anne Hathaway is as pretty & hot as anyone can get.
Her undercover role reminded me of Sydney Bristow in Alias. man. i miss that show. ):
and just now i got another piercing on my left ear lobe, together with mag.
this IS a long entry.
HAHA.
looks too dry to read.
i'm gonna get a camera soon. the photos taken by my phone are so shitass lousy.
gotta go.
bye ppl.
